Mother kills 2 children in Bangladesh—police unit
BANGLADESH—Two minor children in Dhaka’s Banasree area were murdered by their mother, Rapid Action Battalion says this morning.
Mahfuza Maleq alias Jesmin, main suspect in the mysterious incident, was picked up from Jamalpur, by the elite force yesterday. She, her husband and an aunt of the slain children were brought to Dhaka for questioning yesterday.
In an SMS floated from the media, Rab made the disclosure.
Mental anxiety, family or social disorder, psychological illness, extra marital affair, and grabbing of wealth and property are the main reasons behind the killing, Rab said.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of Rab’s legal and media wing, told The Daily Star that a press briefing in this regard will be held at Rab Headquarters later in the day.
