Teacher held over allegations of oral sex with 11-year-old boys

MALACCA, Malaysia—A male teacher from Shah Alam has been detained over allegations that he performed oral sex on two 11-year-old pupils during a school trip to Ayer Keroh here.

The 28-year-old man was held after he was summoned to the Malacca police headquarters to give his statement on Tuesday over a report lodged by one of the pupils in Shah Alam on Sunday.

It is understood that the boy, who is also from the same school in Shah Alam, had accused the teacher of performing oral sex on them at a homestay in Ayer Keroh in mid-October last year.

The boys, who represented their school in the rugby team during a national tournament, were sleeping in the room when the teacher came in and performed oral sex on them.

In the report lodged by the pupil, the boy claimed that he had woken up when the man caressed him but did not dare question him as he was their co-curriculum teacher.

The boy, who entered Standard Six early this year, had since been reluctant to go to school.

Upon questioning by his parents, he told them about the incident.

Although the boy could not remember where the homestay was located as it was booked by the school, police managed to trace the premises from his description.

The report was then referred to the Malacca police headquarters as the alleged incident took place here.

The teacher is being held for investigation under Section 377E of the Penal Code for inciting a child to an act of gross indecency.

It is learnt that the Selangor Education Department had also been informed of the report.

Malacca CID chief Senior Asst Comm Kamaluddin Kassim confirmed the arrest.
