Poll results won’t sway us–Sandigan
Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang said the antigraft court “will never be swayed” in deciding cases against politicians and their allies regardless of the results of the May 9 presidential elections.
“Irrespective of the administration that will follow, the court will always perform and dispense its mandate,” Tang said in a news conference on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sandiganbayan began hearings on Wednesday on the graft case against dismissed Makati City mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay, the son of vice president Jejomar Binay, one of the candidates for president.
The antigraft court is also trying cases against the family of vice presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and pork-barrel scam-related plunder cases against three senators and several members of Congress associated with various political parties.
