Bostolits earns 3rd victory in Ayala tilt

GRACE Bostolits posted its third straight victory after stunning Seattle Best, 76-73, Wednesday night in the showdown of undefeated teams in the ongoing elimination round of the Ayala Inter-Merchant Basketball Association-2011 basketball tournament at the Benjamin Solon Memorial gym in barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City.

Grace Bostolits led, 19-15 in the opening period with Jack Meting and Angel Mancao leading the early assault, but Seattle responded with a 22-16 run behind Dong Eyra and Lasala’s outside shooting to erect an 8-point lead, 37-29, at the half.

Both camps fought on even terms in the 3rd period, but Bostolits rallied hard in the fourth by unloading a, 25-20 rally behind Meting who exploded with 14 points in that stretch for the three-point victory.

Meting and Eugene Barluado powered Grace Bostolits with a game-high 24 and 13 points, respectively as Angel Mancao ably backed with 12 points.

FEATURED STORIES

Dong Eyra and Sabaldan paced Seattle (2-1) with 13 points apiece.

In the other game, Max’s Restaurant claimed its first win in three games after trouncing winless Rustan’s Supermart (0-3), 52-45.

Ygot topscored for Max’s Restaurant with 10 points while Pulgo and Berdin led Rustan with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
