LUCENA CITY – Seven suspected illegal drug pushers were arrested by policemen in simultaneous operations in Calauag town in Quezon province early Sunday.
Policemen, armed with five search warrants, conducted the raids in the safehouses of drug suspects in the villages of Baclaran and Sta. Maria at 4 a.m., said Senior Supt. Eugenio Paguirigan, Quezon police director.
Arrested were Jun Bago Basman, Olomodin Diamla Disoma, Namraida Balang Disoma, Salem Lumayon, Salima Lumayon, Alinor Magdatu Deca, and Eden Espinosa, who were included in the Calauag police’s watchlist of illegal drug suspects.
Lawmen seized 55 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P625,000 from the suspects, Paguirigan said.
Chief Insp. Noel Divino, Calauag police chief, said the suspects did not resist arrest during the raids.
Citing police intelligence information, Divino said the suspects get their supply of illegal drugs from traders based in San Pablo City in Laguna province and Muntinlupa City.
Police also raided several drug dens in Infanta town last week, where a suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with lawmen.
Authorities arrested 21 suspects and seized more than 15 grams of shabu, cash and illegal drug paraphernalia in that raid.
