Mandaluyong worker drowns in Zambales resort
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A Mandaluyong city employee of the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) drowned in a private resort’s swimming pool here on Wednesday evening, police said.
Christopher Adora, 26, resident of San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, was allegedly drunk when he went swimming with other NCMH employees about 11 p.m. during a celebration for a retiring co-worker, said SPO1 Orly Silvido, an investigator of the San Antonio police station.
Police said a co-worker of the victim noticed that Adora had disappeared while swimming in the pool of the Villa Janella Resort in Barangay (village) Pundaquit here.
Adora’s body was found 6 feet under the water before midnight, Silvido said.
The resort’s life guard tried to revive Adora before he was taken to a hospital. He died while being treated there.
