5 lumads wounded as unidentified men burn down dormitory in Davao City

DAVAO CITY—Five lumads were wounded—including two children—when unidentified men burned down a dormitory in Haran Center here around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The said dormitory was being used as an evacuation center for dozens of Manobo lumad, who had earlier fled alleged military and paramilitary atrocities in their communities in Davao del Norte and Bukidnon.

Jong Monzon, secretary general of Pasaka in Southern Mindanao, said they believed that the burning, conducted at dawn, was premeditated and intentional. RAM
