Subic town reports loss of financial papers to robbers

SUBIC, Zambales — The municipal government said it lost financial documents, including receipts, following a break-in during the weekend, police said.

Melissa Amador, an employee of the office of Subic Mayor Jay Khoghun, alerted the police station about the robbery.

The thieves took away disbursement vouchers, official receipts, annual audit reports of Subic villages, cash books, liquidation reports, ledgers and Commission on Audit reports, the initial police investigation showed.

The thieves entered the mayor’s office, the COA office, and the accounting storage room.

A desktop computer and a printer were also reported missing from the COA office.

Police said the robbery could have taken place between 7 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 20) and 9 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 21).
