PCSO’s Rojas says charges against him, board are baseless

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II on Thursday described as baseless and without merit the charges filed against him and the agency’s present board.

In a statement, Rojas said the cases were designed “to malign the present board for the personal agenda and self-serving interest of certain individuals.”

“It is a pity that there are those who, in their desperation to find evidence that good governance does not work, will go to the extent of destroying agencies where good governance worked and works,” he said.

He said that since 2010, the PCSO board has “introduced and put in place reforms which includes the gaming activities and charity services.”

“We are confident that the case will be dismissed for lack of merit,” he said.
