Poe: SolGen is ‘people’s conscience’

The Solicitor General is the conscience of the Filipino people, and “the people’s conscience is always right.”

The camp of Senator Grace Poe had this to say about Solicitor General Florin Hilbay, who recently upheld the status of foundlings as natural-born Filipinos—a view supporting the presidential candidate’s case against her disqualification before the Supreme Court.

George Garcia, a member of Poe’s legal team, said the Senator’s camp had been “very optimistic” about the case from the very start.

Earlier, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc ruled that Poe had lied in her certificate of candidacy and disqualified her.
