CITY OF MALOLOS — A Bulacan judge on Monday ordered the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Marilao town to strip the name of actor Philip Salvador off its list of registered voters.

In a 20-page order issued on Feb. 15, acting Executive Judge Albert Fonacier of the Bulacan regional trial court (RTC) directed the Commission on Elections to “exclude the name of appellee Philip Reyes Salvador from the list of registered voters of Precinct No. 275D, Barangay Sta. Rosa 2, Marilao, Bulacan.”

Fonacier had reversed and set aside the Jan. 25 joint resolution of the Marilao municipal trial court which ruled that the actor was a legitimate voter of Marilao, following a Nov. 24, 2015 resolution from the Comelec office in Marilao which granted Salvador’s application to transfer his voter’s registration there.

The judge said Salvador failed to prove that he had been living in a rented property in Marilao for the duration required to become an eligible Marilao voter.
