LOOK: Jinkee Pacquiao shakes off furor vs Manny, says ‘haters gonna hate’

Jinkee Pacquiao said that “haters gonna hate” following the backlash that her husband, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial aspirant Manny Pacquiao, has received over his remarks targeting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

In a post on her Instagram account on Tuesday, Jinkee said that negativity has no place in their family.

She also said that amid the furor against her husband, who was criticized for saying that gays are worse than animals, she would just pray for everything.

“Haters gonna hate, but there is no room for negativity in my life and my family. Godbless everyone! #loveoneanother #ijustprayforeverything,” she said.

The post has been liked more than 2, 900 likes and has been commented 700 times.

In a video posted by TV-5, Pacquiao said that he used his “common sense” to air his opposition same sex unions, saying “Mas mabuti pa ‘yung hayop, marunong kumilala kung lalaki-lalaki o babae-babae. Kung lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae, e mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao.”

Pacquiao initially defended his statement but then apologized to those who might have been offended by his statement against the LGBT community.

Some celebrities and LGBT personalities slammed Pacquiao for his stance, even urging their fans to not vote for the Sarangani lawmaker. AJH
