Manila fire leaves 40 families homeless, causes P1.5M in damages
A fire which hit a row of houses in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday rendered 40 families homeless and brought P1.5 million in damages according to a Radyo Inquirer report.
The fire started at 7:17 a.m. at Oroquieta cor Laguna streets in Manila.
By 8:08 a.m., the fire has reached fourth alarm.
Manila Bureau of Fire Protection Fire Marshal Supt. Jaime Ramirez said the fire started on the second floor of a unit occupied by Mary Jane Bigcas.
The fire easily engulfed the 20-door apartment complex because the units were mostly made of wood.
A 65-year-old woman sustained minor injuries on her feet due to the incident.
