“Help us keep the investigation going,” pleaded a member of the family of Teng Santaromana Gamboa, widow of the late Filipino musician Dominic “Papadom” Gamboa, who died shortly after logging off from work in Makati on Feb. 10, apparently a victim of a holdup inside the taxicab she hailed to go home.
She was working in Total Network Research and Marketing, a call center in Legaspi Village, Makati City, and had left the office in the early hours of Feb. 10 when tragedy struck.

“Her body was dumped on Kalayaan Avenue,” the family member told Inquirer, quoting Makati police officers who responded to calls by witnesses.
The crime comes after a rash of similar incidents just last year in Makati, including a number of holdups staged in broad daylight along the stretch of Chino Roces Avenue, not to mention one that occurred late at night which victimized an Inquirer employee who survived the ordeal.
That one was solved with the arrest of one of the suspects.
Gamboa’s untimely death demands immediate justice; the police are now said to be conducting an investigation.
Even then, no one is safe in Makati, including its Central Business District. CDG
