Obama: Al-Qaeda should watch its back

/ 04:15 AM May 21, 2011

LANGLEY—President Barack Obama warned Friday Al-Qaeda members must watch their backs, as the United States acts on a trove of intelligence seized from Osama bin Laden’s compound.

Obama delivered the threat as he visited Central Intelligence Agency headquarters to congratulate the entire US clandestine community on the long operation that tracked down the Al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan.

He noted that US spies had found little time to celebrate bin Laden’s killing by a team of elite special forces on May 2, because they had to pour through priceless data picked up by the US team.

“We have to analyze, evaluate and exploit this mountain of intelligence,” Obama said.

“So today every terrorist in the Al-Qaeda network should be watching their back because we’re going to review every video, we’re going to examine every photo, we’re going to read every one of those millions of pages,” Obama said.

“We’re going to pursue every lead. We are going to go wherever it takes us. We’re going to finish the job. We’re going to defeat Al-Qaeda,” Obama said.
