LINAMON, Lanao del Norte – Liberal Party’s “Daang Matuwid” team staged a caravan for the Mar Roxas-Leni Robredo tandem here on Tuesday as the national campaign started.

Lanao del Norte Representative Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the motorcade started from the Sultan Naga Dimaporo town and passed by the coastal towns of Kapatagan, Lala, Baroy, Tubod, Kolambugan, Maigo, Bacolod and Kauswagan, before ending up here around 11 a.m.

Seen at the caravan were LP officials such as Lanao del Norte Gov. Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo, Vice Gov. Christy Atay and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial council) members.

Hundreds of supporters joined the caravan, Representative Dimaporo said.

Not to be outdone were the supporters of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who also held a caravan from Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, to Iligan City.

Nonoy Calacat, regional coordinator of the Duterte Die-hard Supporters, said a mass was also held at 3 p.m. at the Iligan cathedral.

Supporters were also watching Duterte speak from Manila via live stream starting 5 p.m., he said.  SFM
