Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has skipped his oath-taking in Intramuros, Manila, as the new chair of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), according to the party spokesperson.
Lawyer Paola Alavarez on Tuesday confirmed that Duterte could not attend the swearing-in at Intramuros Golf Clubhouse because he was not feeling well.
“Yung throat niya medyo masama na raw so he is reserving his energy for later,” Alvarez said.
Prior to the oath-taking, Duterte and his running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano visited Binondo and Tondo on Monday night.
Alvarez said Duterte would take his oath in Tondo during his proclamation rally at 6 p.m. RC
