Religious superiors call for SC justices’ resignation

MANILA, Philippines — The Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines is calling for the resignation of Supreme Court justices, who reversed a final ruling that considered illgela the retrenchment of Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight attendants and cabin crew, a report on Radyo Inquirer 990Am said Friday.

Chairperson Sister Mary John Mananzan said the justices should all resign out of delicadeza over their “unacceptable” decision that favored the PAL management over the Philippine Airlines Employees Association (Palea), which filed a labor case 13 years ago.

Mananzan said that since the Supreme Court was the court of last resort, the Palea members have nowhere to go after what happened.

The chairperson also said that this event shall bring more protesters on streets.
