MANILA, Philippines — Philippine flags in all Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) campuses were flown at half-mast Friday as a sign of mourning for their slain vice president for administration Augustus Cezar, a report on Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.
Students, faculty members and workers of the university wore black and white to express their grief and condolences.
Close friends and colleagues of Cezar described him as having no enemies, happy, friendly, and an honest person, the report said.
Cezar has invested his life in PUP and although he was no longer taking clients as an attorney, he gave free legal advice, they were further quoted as saying.
At 3 p.m. this Friday, a peaceful rally has been set on the PUP grounds main campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
On Sunday, Cezar’s remains would be brought back to his birthplace in the municipality of Lezo, Aklan province in the Western Visayas Region.
Cezar was shot dead by motorcycle-riding suspects along Pureza Street in Sta. Mesa Manila at around 10:15 p.m, Wednesday, according to a previous report by INQUIRER.net.
