Monday coldest day in Metro

METRO Manila experienced on Monday its coldest day so far this year, though this was still warmer than last year’s coldest day.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the temperature in Metro Manila dipped to 19.4 degrees Celsius, the lowest reading recorded since October 2015 when the northeast monsoon set in.

The temperature at the Pagasa Science Garden in Quezon City was recorded at 19.4 degrees Celsius at 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

However, this was still warmer than the lowest temperature of 18 degrees Celsius recorded in Metro Manila on Feb. 3, 2015.

The cool weather usually peaks in January and February, so this may be the coldest in Metro Manila since the northeast monsoon is expected to end soon.
