CEBU CITY, Philippines—Early Monday morning raid at the male dormitory of the Cebu City jail in Barangay Kalunasan yielded several drug paraphernalia and personal appliances.

Chief Supt. Allan Iral, director of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Central Visayas (BJMP-7), said they recovered tooters and lighters, which were usually used in sniffing shabu (methamphitamine hydrocloride, otherwise known as poor man’s cocaine).

The raid on Monday morning is the first greyhound operation this year, and will be done once every quarter of the year.

“It is important since most of the inmates are drug offenders and we need to apprehend those who might be in possession of cellular phones which might be put to use to continue their drug trade inside,” said Iral. TVJ
