SUBANG JAYA — Police have arrested 13 men in a series of raids around Batu Caves over a samurai sword attack that left two men with horrific slash wounds in their arms.
Selangor CID chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the men, aged 21 to 44, were arrested at about 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The arrests came just hours after the suspects allegedly ambushed two men in a shoplot at Taman Samudra in Batu Caves. One of them allegedly used a samurai sword to slash the victims’ arms.
The 23 and 33-year-old victims then ran to a clinic at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday to seek treatment.
One of the victims is unconscious at the Selayang Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) while the other is in the emergency ward.
“We still don’t know what the motive of the attack was. We also didn’t find any weapons that may have been used in the case during the raids,” Mohd Adnan said.
He said the suspects would be remanded and investigated for assault with a deadly weapon.
