Poe-Escudero party kick-off rally set for Tuesday

The Partido Galing at Puso of Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero will hold a three-hour proclamation rally at the Plaza Miranda, in Quiapo Manila on February 9, according to a media advisory released by Poe’s office on Friday.

The proclamation rally is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

“It is our pleasure to invite you to the Proclamation Rally of Partido Galing at Puso led by presidential candidate Grace Poe and vice presidential candidate Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Plaza Miranda,” said the advisory.

Poe and Escudero are running for president and vice president, respectively.

Poe earlier described the kick-off rally of the team as “exciting,” while their campaign manager, Cebu Representative Ace Durano, said it would be a “positive” event despite the pendency of disqualification cases against the lady senator.

The Supreme Court has yet to decide on the Commission on Election’s decision, cancelling Poe’s certificate of candidacy for president over her citizenship and residency.

A separate petition seeking to unseat Poe as senator was already junked by the Senate Electoral Tribunal but the petitioner, defeated candidate Rizalito David, appealed the ruling before the SC.

Except for Senator Ralph Recto, who is part of the administration’s slate, Durano said all other senatorial candidates of the Poe-Escudero tandem are all expected to attend the proclamation rally.

“Based on our preparatory meeting last week, all will attend in person except for Senator Ralph who might just send a representative,” Durano said. CDG
