In a five-minute video uploaded by a certain Lenard Bernardo on Facebook on Tuesday, the unnamed traffic enforcer was seen repeatedly asking the driver for his license for loading passengers in a prohibited zone along the boundary of Pasig City and Cainta, Rizal.

“Boss magandang umaga po, ginagawa mong terminal ‘yan. Diyan ka nagsasakay. Pahiram nga po ng lisensya mo sir,” the driver said.

But the driver, who was wearing a blue shirt, claimed that he was from the Senate.

“Pare sa Senado nga ako… Kay JV Ejercito,” he said.

“Kay JV Ejercito. Ginagamit mo si senador. Pahiram pong lisensya mo… Colorum ka,” the enforcer maintained.

When the enforcer was already issuing a ticket for the violation, the driver attempted to bribe him and even threatened him that he may lose his job.

“Pwede naman nating pag-usapan ‘to. Ngayon lang naman… Pag usapan natin ‘to; ano bang gusto mong mangyari? Pag tiniketan mo ‘to, hindi ko lang alam kung magtatrabaho ka pa. Bibigyan na lang kita para matapos na ‘to,” the driver said.

But despite the intimidation, the enforcer stood his ground and still issued the ticket.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ejercito said denied links to the driver, whom he identified as a certain Jun and a resident of San Juan.

“To those asking, Jun–the man caught on cam brazenly violating traffic rules and apprehended by a traffic officer–is in no way connected to me and my Senate office. Yes, Jun is a resident of San Juan. But he was never part of my staff,” Ejercito said.

“It is unfortunate that he had to name drop me and my office just to get away with a traffic violation. Just want to make this clear with the video going viral in social media,” he added.
