A Liberal Party (LP) official refuted Davao city Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s claim that the LP bet Mar Roxas had a breakdown in the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice instead turned the tables on Roxas’ opponent for the presidential position and said Duterte seemed to be the one who is losing his marbles.
“Mar Roxas got the scare of his life during Yolanda… I was there on Day 2. Si Mar nagka-breakdown,” Duterte said in the radio interview.
“I was there. I was talking to him. Nag-mo-monologue siya… He was not acting like a person who was in charge of a disaster (relief operation), giving commands or critical orders,” Duterte added.
Erice said it was Roxas, not Duterte, who witnessed the wrath of the storm in Leyte when he first led the relief operations as Interior Secretary.
“Sila, wala lahat doon. Sila ay nambabatikos, parang mga armchair general,” he added.
Erice said Duterte was lying when the latter said in the radio interview that he was in Leyte on the second day of the aftermath of Yolanda.
“Wala siya roon… Madaling patunayan iyan. Nagsisinungaling siya,” Erice said.
Erice went on to call Duterte as loony for being a bad example to the youth with his foul mouth and womanizing ways.
Siya iyong parang may katok e,” Erice said.
“Minumura iyong pope.
