Pia Wurtzbach: ‘I hope we elect the right people’
Know your candidates.
That was the advice of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on Tuesday when asked by Malacañang reporters about the upcoming elections.
Wurtzbach was in Malacañang for a courtesy call with President Benigno Aquino III.

“Well, I hope that we elect the right people because it’s going to shape the country for the next couple of years so it’s very important,” the beauty queen said.
Wurtzbach, who is the Philippines’ 3rd Miss Universe, added, “My advice would be kilalanin n’yo po nang mabuti ‘yung mga iboboto n’yo. Hindi po sapilitan o parang minadaling desisyon.”
(My advice is for you to know well the candidates you will vote for. No one should force you or it shouldn’t be a hasty decision.)
“Kailangan po magaan sa loob n’yo kung sino ang iboboto n’yo po for the elections,” she added.
(You should have a good feeling about who you are going to vote for in the elections.)
Wurtzbach has become popular worldwide after Miss Universe host Steve Harvey made the mistake of announcing the wrong winner. Wurtzbach, who had already been announced first runner-up, was declared Miss Universe during the controversial coronation night.
The beauty queen has since used her popularity to promote her own advocacies, which includes HIV/AIDS awareness. IDL
