COTABATO CITY—At least 15 persons were injured in a vehicular accident in the national highway in Barangay (village) Tambo in nearby Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao on Friday morning, the police said.
Chief Insp. Wendelyn Banico, Sultan Mastura town police chief, said that according to an initial investigation, a passenger van with license plate MWE-333 was heading toward Cotabato City when it hit a cargo truck loaded with copra, which was parked by the roadside in Barangay Tambo around 6:30 a.m.
The victims were rushed to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center and Notre Dame Hospital, both in this city.
The truck driver, whom Banico did not identify, was taken under police custody for further investigation. RAM
