Duterte, Cayetano might kick off campaign in Mindanao
The tandem of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano might no longer hold a proclamation rally on February 9, 2016 but they would probably start their official campaign with simple activities in Mindanao, the senator said on Friday.
“We’ve been meeting on the kick-off kasi sabi ni Mayor huwag na tayong mag proclamation kasi unang-una proklamado naman lahat. Pangalawa, iha-hassle mo pa yung mga uspporters mo na pumunta, gastos yun…” Cayetano said during a press conference in Taguig.
(We’ve been meeting on the kick-off because the Mayor said let’s not hold a proclamation [rally] because, first of all, everyone’s already been proclaimed. Secondly, it would only cause hassle for your supporters, they would have to spend money to attend.)
“We’ll definitely have an activity kasi (because) we have to start officially campaigning but it will be simple and we’ll send a message of real change. Malamang sa Mindanao mag-start (Most probably it will start in Mindanao) but we really haven’t decided exactly where and how …” he said.
Asked if the simple activities could be considered their proclamation rally, Cayetano answered in the negative.
