The tandem of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano might no longer hold a proclamation rally on February 9, 2016 but they would probably start their official campaign with simple activities in Mindanao, the senator said on Friday.

“We’ve been meeting on the kick-off kasi sabi ni Mayor huwag na tayong mag proclamation kasi unang-una proklamado naman lahat. Pangalawa, iha-hassle mo pa yung mga uspporters mo na pumunta, gastos yun…” Cayetano said during a press conference in Taguig.

Asked if the simple activities could be considered their proclamation rally, Cayetano answered in the negative.

“I don’t think it will be a proclamation rally —‘yung traditional na (the traditional type where) you ask your supporters, maghahakot ka ng tao sa isang area at paramihan kayo ng tao (gather supporters and let’s compete on who has the most followers) just to say that we’re officially running, everyone knows who are running eh,” the senator added.
