Senior Deputy Prosecutor Theodore Villanueva ordered former Philippine Drug Enforce Agency (PDEA) officer Col. Ferdinand Marcelino to show proof that he was doing covert operation when he was arrested in a drug bust early morning Thursday.
Marcelino is currently at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to undergo inquest proceeding.
“I can honestly say, and look you in the eye, I was just doing my job,” Marcelino told reporters.
“I was just there kasi (because) we are verifying information that we got, we still don’t know ano meron sa bahay na yun (what we’ll find in that house). We were there to check on the info,” he said.

Marcelino, in handcuffs was emotional.
“Kahit sinong tao kapag dumaan sa matinding pagsubok, security of your loved ones at stake, your future, career, life, your reputation is being put in bad light na alam mo naman na wala ka naman ginagawang masama, magiging emosyonal ka naman talaga,” he said.

“I can honestly tell you I can never betray our country and our future dahil sa (because of) drugs. Never,” he added.
Aside from Marcelino, also at the DOJ for inquest proceeding is Chinese national Yan Yi Shou.
