Tied-up man found murdered near Olongapo lighthouse

OLONGAPO CITY—A body of an unidentified man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the head near the old lighthouse in the city’s Kalaklan village on Sunday morning, local authorities said.

The man’s hands were strapped tight to the neck with a nylon chord, said Norman Villacastin, team leader of the village’s Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team.

He said the man’s head was wrapped with a black scarf.

Police investigators recovered an empty shell fired from a .45 caliber pistol near the body when it was discovered at 6 a.m.

Villacastin said the victim was in his late 20’s and was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and checkered shorts.

Police said the body bore a tattoo of the name “Randy” on his right arm.

On Sept. 20 last year, the body of 45-year-old Alex Paloma was discovered in the same location, according to the police. Paloma was shot several times. His hands were also tied when police recovered his remains.
