Senate to reopen Mamasapano probe on Jan. 27
The Senate will reopen its investigation on the Mamasapano incident on January 27, and not on January 25, as earlier announced.
“Per the request of PNP DirGen Ricardo Marquez and in deference to the PNP commemoration activities for the heroes of SAF 44 and their families to be held that day, Sen. Poe has re-scheduled the re-opening of the Mamasapano hearing to Jan. 27,” said an advisory sent to reporters by the office of Senator Grace Poe.
“This is to ensure that invited guests from the PNP will be able to attend,” it further said.

It was Poe, as chair of the Senate committee on public order, who led the investigation on the Mamasapano incident that left 44 elite policemen and several other civilians dead.
The senator earlier announced that the reopening of the probe would be held on January 25 or exactly a year after the incident but later said she would reschedule it as it would coincide with the commemoration activities for the so called fallen 44 SAF men.
