ALA Boxing Promotions scored a double success as it does not only conquered the ring after its prizefighter Donnie “Ahas” Nietes snatched the WBO jr. flyweight belt from Mexican Ramon Garcia Hirales in last Saturday’s Pinoy Pride 9 but  was also able to top the television ratings nationwide.

The first-ever world championship bout in Bacolod City which was co-presented by ABS-CBN, turned in a 14 percent national ratings  average. It also got an average of 12.1 percent in the Luzon area.

ALA and ABS-CBN knocked out network rivals, GMA after its Kapuso Movie Sunday Festival only got 12.8 rating and Party Pilipinas’ 11.2 percent. ASAP Rocks barely beat Pinoy Pride 9 with a 14.2 percent score.
