The National Bureau of Investigation is set to undergo a major revamp effective next week as part of the bureau’s preparations of the upcoming elections, according to the bureau’s top official.
For the past two years, NBI has been in the forefront of all high-profile investigations, including the pork barrel scam that implicated more than a hundred politicians including members from the Senate and the House of Representatives.
“Apart from ensuring that the agents are assigned to areas where they are most effective and their expertise are used to the maximum, it’s also in preparation for the upcoming elections,’’ Virgilio Mendez, NBI director told the Inquirer.
Mendez said the announcement of the reshuffle would be announced at the end of bureau’s annual command conference yesterday.
“The revamp will be effective immediately,” Mendez said.
