DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines – A 30-year-old man charged with committing a series of sexual attacks at the regional trial court here was arrested after hiding for over nine years, authorities said Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Jose Teody Condesa, head of the police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Davao del Sur, said Sunny Amud, a native of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, was arrested while hiding in Surallah, South Cotabato on Tuesday.

Condesa said Amud fled Sta. Cruz in 2006 after Judge Carmelita Davin of RTC 19 issued a warrant for his arrest for seven counts of rape.

Condesa did not provide details on the victims but added that Amud had been positively identified as the attacker in all seven cases.
