The head of the Philippine National Police vowed to go after trigger-happy men seen in a viral video firing high-powered guns purportedly during the holidays.
“We will run after you and file cases against you,” PNP chief Director General Ricardo Marquez said on Monday.
Uploaded on the Even Demata Facebook page on Sunday, the video showed several men speaking in the vernacular firing two guns. The date when the video was taken as well as the location are still being determined.

Speaking to reporters in Camp Crame, Marquez confidently said the PNP would be able to identify the perpetrators. He added: “We will trace their identities and the location where the incident happened.”
The PNP chief also encouraged netizens to post similar incidents on social media to make it easier for the law enforcers to track the violators.
The Anti-Cybercrime Group is studying the video and checking its authenticity.
The PNP has so far recorded 11 incidents of illegal discharge of firearms since it started tallying holiday-related cases in December.
Seven civilians, one police officer and a security guard have been arrested for illegal discharge of firearms.
This was lower compared to last year when the PNP recorded 24 cases of illegal discharge of firearms nationwide.
