LTFRB executive director Robert Cabrera is new LTO chief
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will have a new head as it welcomes the New Year.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) executive director Robert Cabrera will replace former LTO chief Assistant Secretary Alfonso Tan Jr. who stepped down from his post last November, Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya confirmed on Sunday.
Abaya said Tan resigned due to “family reasons.”
“I requested him to hold on until a new appointment is made by the President,” Abaya said.
Tan replaced the late Virginia Torres who retired from her post in 2013 after a video of her in a casino went viral.
Cabrera, a lawyer and graduate of Ateneo Law School, became the LTFRB executive director in 2013.
