Rowdy neighbor guns down girl during New Year’s revelry
DAGUPAN CITY — A teenage girl was shot dead by a tricycle driver whom she and her cousin tried to stop from throwing bottles onto the streets during the New Year revelry in Urdaneta City.
Noel Estantino shot Lyka Guiro, 17, and her 27-year-old cousin, Rosemarie Clune, from the window of their house in in Barangay Bayaoas at 2:45 a.m. .
Guiro and Clune were asking Estantino, their neighbor, to stop throwing bottles out of his window when the man allegedly pulled out a rifle and opened fire on the women, said Supt. Jeff Fanged, Urdaneta police chief.
Guiro died while being treated at the Urdaneta City District Hospital. Clune was wounded but was in a stable condition at press time, according to doctors.
Estantino fled after the shooting. Fanged said a team is now hunting down Estantino.
