THE RESULTS of a survey showing Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero leading the vice presidency indicate that the people continue to believe in him and his running mate Sen. Grace Poe’s vision for the country despite the obstacles she is facing.
Senator Escudero made this statement after expressing elation over the results of the surveys conducted by Pulse Asia, Social Weather Station and pollster Junie Laylo, which all show him as the top choice for vice president of the polled voters.
“The results of the separate surveys warm the heart. These only show that despite the challenges that Senator Grace and I are facing, the people continue to trust in our good intentions for the country,” Escudero said.
These also indicate that people still support them even if there are attempts to kick Poe out of the race for the presidency, he said.
Poe is at risk of having her name removed from the ballot as a presidential candidate after the Commission on Elections en banc decided to disqualify her.
The en banc upheld the decisions of two divisions to cancel her certificate of candidacy on the ground that she did not meet the 10-year residency requirement because she used to live in the United States, and that she could not be considered natural born Filipino because she is a foundling.
Poe needs to secure a Supreme Court order to be able to remain on the ballot, and has less than two days to do so.
