2 teens commit suicide in Pinamalayan
CITY OF CALAPAN—Two teenage girls in the typhoon-devastated town of Pinamalayan in Oriental Mindoro committed suicide because of a boy, by hanging themselves on a mango tree inside their school compound on Tuesday, police said.
Supt. Joseph Talento, Pinamalayan police chief, said the bodies of the two girls, age 15 and 16, were discovered around 2:30 p.m. inside their school.
He said the girls found out they had a common boyfriend. “They wrote their anger out on the boyfriend on their school’s green board and when it was full, continued their writing on their arms,” said Talento on the phone on Thursday.
Their bodies were discovered by their common boyfriend, also a student of the school, who seemed to have rushed to the school after getting their respective suicide notes.
Policemen went to the house of the boy but he could no longer be located, said Talento. Madonna T. Virola, Inquirer Southern Luzon
