SENATOR Grace Poe said a person or a group who wanted her out of the 2016 presidential race was behind an alleged apparent “deliberate” release of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc’s decision to disqualify her this Wednesday when most of government offices are already on a holiday break.

She was referring to Comelec chairman Andres Bautista, who dissented from the Comelec’s First and Second divisions’ decisions to disqualify her over her citizenship and residency.

Asked if the timing of the decision was deliberate, Poe said she was no longer surprised. In fact, she said, they were already expecting it, especially since she said there are groups or one person at the Comelec who was pushing to immediately release the decision.

The senator nevertheless asked for understanding and forgiveness from the public who might be confused whether or not she is still a candidate for president.

The senator also reiterated her belief that she could win her battle when the case is brought to the Supreme Court.
