Tolentino on ‘ties’ with Aquino: I value our friendship
Senatorial candidate Francis N. Tolentino continues to enjoy a good relationship with President Aquino despite the “recent political developments” that compelled the former chief of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to bolt out from Liberal Party, Mr. Aquino’s political party.
“President Aquino is a good friend and I continue to value his friendship and will always be supportive of him even outside the fringes of politics,” Tolentino said when asked about his ties with President Aquino.
This was the first time that Tolentino spoke of his friendship with President Aquino after he left LP.
Tolentino earlier asked LP to exclude him from their Senate slate. A recent Pulse Asia survey commissioned by network giant ABS-CBN showed Tolentino landing firmly on the 14th spot.
“It’s all about hardwork. At the end of the day, we will all be measured by our deeds. Good deeds, of course,” he said.
If elected, Tolentino vows to craft laws on environmental protection, public safety and improve existing laws on disaster preparedness.
