DSWD seeks parents of abandoned kids

08:06 AM October 12, 2011

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) is seeking the assistance of the public in locating the parents and relatives of the abandoned minors.

On March 31, 2011 at 9 p.m.,  a certain Lucy Acosta Macahig left her baby, also known as Lady Jane, at the Margaritha Birthing Center in Lahug, Cebu City, after giving birth. Macahig never came back since then and can no longer be contacted.

On May 7, 2009 at 9 p.m., a baby boy known  as Jayvee Antonio Luis was left by his mother Theresa to a friend named Lyn-Lyn, the  helper of couple Mildred and Jerry Dicdican.  On the same date, Lyn-Lyn entrusted the baby to her employer at their residence at Park Tower 1 in Ayala Business Park, Cebu City. After a month, Lyn-Lyn left  her employer without permission.
Both Theresa and Lyn-Lyn could not be contacted. Their whereabouts could not also be traced.

The DSWD-7 is requesting the parents of these children to see social worker Clavel Saycon at their office on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City with contact numbers 232-6581 and 233-8779.
Failure of the parents and relatives to appear or claim the children within one month will subject the children for legal abandonment.
