Sen. Grace Poe lamented on Friday what she described as “unfair” treatment to the so-called “new heroes” who had decided to run for public office like her.

This after the issue on the disqualification cases against her was raised during a forum organized by Migrante International held at UP College of Law in Diliman, Quezon City.

Like other OFWs, Poe said she also left the country to be with her family and better provide for their needs.

Poe was referring to her late father, Fernando Poe Jr., who died in December 2004, just months after he lost to then president and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Poe said one’s love for the country should not be measured only on where the person was based.

Poe added.
