While Tropical Depression “Nona” has weakened at sea and is now a low pressure area (LPA), Tropical Depression “Onyok” maintained its strength and poses a threat over Caraga region, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is raised over Surigao del Sur including Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Province, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley and Bukidnon.
No threat of storm surge was seen in these areas, weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.
While Nona has become an LPA, it will still bring light to moderate rains over Bataan and Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 11 a.m. briefing.

Rains over Central Luzon are also expected due to northeast monsoon (“amihan”), while light to moderate rains will persist in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Pagasa warned fisherfolk against venturing out over northern, western and eastern seaboards of Luzon.
The LPA, formerly Nona, has remained stationary at 75 km west of SBMA, Olongapo City, Zambales, since 8 a.m.
Onyok was located 625 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at 10 a.m. with a wind strength of 55 kilometers per hour (kph).
If it maintains moving west at 15 kph, Onyok will make landfall over Caraga region by Friday evening. RAM
