THE QUEZON City court on Wednesday ordered the Iglesia ni Cristo to remove the guards and fences put up on Tuesday between the houses of expelled members Angel Manalo and Lottie Manalo-Hemedez inside a disputed compound on Tandang Sora Street.

Judge Edgar Dalmacio Santos of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 222 told the INC to remove “in the meantime” the portalet, the guardhouse and the guards posted at the compound’s brown gate.

Lottie Manalo-Hemedez, sister of INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo, told the court that she had to climb the fence to leave the house and attend yesterday’s hearing.

The judge urged both parties, “since they are relatives,” to come up with a reasonable settlement as the case has become “complicated and controversial.”

The court also ordered INC to “turn over the electric meter in the houses of Angel Manalo and Lottie Hemedez.”
