Albay evacuees return home; classes resume

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines —  The Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has ordered the full decampment of 346,944 persons (77,718 families) who were evacuated across the province due to the threat of Typhoon Nona.

Governor Joey Salceda, in PDRRMC Advisory No. 8, posted on his Facebook page at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, said the evacuated families have been allowed to return home because of the improving weather condition in the province.

Thousands of families were evacuated in the different towns and cities of Albay since Sunday night as the typhoon was approaching the province.

Salceda said the suspension of classes and school outdoor activities was also lifted, with classes resuming,Wednesday (Dec. 16).  SFM
