Metro Manila, nearby provinces warned of flooding due to ‘Nona’
Metro Manila and several nearby provinces were warned of possible flooding on Tuesday night due to heavy rains spawned by Typhoon “Nona” (international name: Melor).
Yellow warning was issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) over Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas at 8:30 p.m.
Under a yellow advisory, 7.5 mm and 15 mm of rainfall are dumped in one hour and likely to continue in the next two hours.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Quezon may persist for 2-3 hours, Pagasa said.
Weather in the National Capital Region is expected to improve by Thursday. “Nona” will exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday.
