SORSOGON CITY, Sorsogon, Philippines – Moderate to severe cases of damage to property, roads and other public infrastructure are expected in areas directly hit by Typhoon Nona in Sorsogon province, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC).
PDRRMC head Raden Dimaano initially assessed that most of the damage were concentrated in the towns of Gubat, Barcelona, Bulusan, Sta. Magdalena, Bulan, Juban, Magallanes and Irosin.
The PDRRMC Sorsogon has organized two teams to penetrate the Barcelona-Bulusan and Juban-Matnog roads.
These roads are currently not passable due to fallen trees and toppled power lines.
The teams have been tasked to do rapid damage assessment needs analysis, said Dimaano.
All classes are still suspended in Sorsogon. SFM
