Drug war calls: PDEA needs 382 new agents

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is looking for new frontliners and undercovers in the war on narcotics.

PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. on Saturday said the agency aims to hire 382 new drug enforcement officers. Applicants must be 21 to 35 years old and physically fit, at least 5 feet tall for females, and 5 feet and 2 inches tall for males.

They must be college graduates, computer literate and in possession of either Career Service Professional Eligibility or a Professional Regulation Commission license. Applicants who are members of an ethnic group must have a certificate from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.

Interested applicants can download the Personal Data Sheet from www.csc.gov.ph and submit it to the PDEA national headquarters on NIA Northside Road in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.

They will be asked to take qualifying examinations, neuropsychological evaluation tests and medical examinations. Once recruited, they are to undertake a six-month comprehensive and regimented Drug Enforcement Officers’ Basic Course at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite province.

Cacdac said the new employees will have an entry-level position of Intelligence Officer I, a permanent item with salary grade 11.
