NCRPO trumpets score vs Metro’s Most Wanted

More than half of the most wanted persons in Metro Manila have been arrested in a span of 22 weeks, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

The NCRPO chief, Director Joel Pagdilao, reported on Friday that of the 440 most wanted crime suspects in the capital, 268 had been apprehended from July 30 to Dec. 6 through the intensified efforts of the command’s tracker teams.

Per police district, he said, the success rates are as follows:

In the Northern Police District (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela), 80 percent of the wanted suspects are now behind bars;

In the Eastern Police District (Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan and Marikina), 58 percent;

In the Quezon City Police District, 58 percent;

In the Manila Police District (MPD), 62 percent;

And in the Southern Police District (Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Taguig, Pateros and Makati), 55 percent.

The most recent arrests were made in Muntinlupa and Manila, Pagdilao said.

He was referring to the capture of 21-year-old robbery suspect Eric John Atadero, the sixth most wanted man in Muntinlupa; and that of drug suspect Hilario Schaupp, who was No. 5 on the MPD’s list. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
